Exploring Camera-Less Photography: The Chemigram
Explore making images without a camera! Also called Experimental, Alternative Process, and Lensless Photography, the Chemigram is an interaction between light, painting, and photography to create abstract imagery without the use of the traditional darkroom.
Under normal room lighting, participants will apply black and white developer and fixer onto photographic paper to produce unique, one of a kind pieces of work. The addition of various resists (materials such as oil or honey that repel the developer or fixer), participants will learn how to coax out patterns and textures in an unpredictable and artistic outcome. It is recommended to dress for making a mess and/or to bring an apron.
